New Sn0wbreeze 2.1 has been released for iPhone 4/3GS/3G (both new bootrom and old bootrom), iPad Touch 2G/3G/4G (MC and MB), iPad and new Apple TV. It has been really great news for the users of iPad and iPhone especially with a Windows PC.
The tool has been functioning in a way that jailbreakers can use the custom IPSW files as well as to preserve the current baseband like the function of Pwnage Tool developed by the Dev Team for Macs.
The advantage of this tool has been mainly that the users can have custom IPSW. And the advantage of having a custom IPSW has been that the users can restore the device in iTunes by selecting and installing the hacked file. But this has not been really highly recommended to do that way. Though jailbreaking has been legal in the country, Apple has sufficient reasons to explain why it’s not been recommended.
You have been able to asset up custom boot logos with the tools. But be noted that it has been for iPhone 3G only. And the tool can activate your iDevice, set root size and install your SSH.
The tool has been expected to work for iPod Touch and iPhone with iOS 4.1 and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad. There has not been anything about the support of iOS 4.2 yet. But there has not been anything to worry for them as there have been already similar utilities labelled as compatible.
It has been necessary to save SHSH blobs first to unlock before update to new iOS versions. Users have been supposed to unlock their iPhone only when they have not had upgraded to iOS 4.1 yet. And they have not been supposed to receive their device with iOS 4.1 installed before. They have been able to unlock then by using a custom firmware without upgrading their current bandwidth. Then they have been able to use Ultrasn0w like always to unlock.
